HTC Desire HD is the first phone to use 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8252 scorpion CPU. I have been looking forward to write review on HTC Desire HD since it was first published in September 2010. HTC Desire HD had lot of success in between this year. And still it is one of the dominating smartphone in the market. Lot of people asked me about HTC Desire HD . So it will be great pleasure for me to reviewing on it. So let’s start a short review on HTC Desire HD.
The HTC Desire HDC is a aluminium backed striking cel phone. But it misses the wow factor that Apple iphone 4 and HTC Legend has, but the built quality is better than Samsung Omnia 7 and LG Optimus 7.
HTC Desire is come with new shape than its earlier device and HTC removed the trackpad and soft keys from the HTC Desire. HTC Desire HD has 4 touch sensitive buttons for Home, Menu, Back and Search. HTC Desire HD come has 8MP camera with LED Dual flash. HTC Desire HD has dedicated volume control and a power button.
HTC Desire HD comes with 3.5mm jack, Micro USB slot and there is MicroSD slot with 1.5GB board storage.
HTC Desire HD is one of the few smartphone which felt too big but after using couple of days it will be OK.
HTC Desire HD has Wi-Fi. Bluetooth 2.1, DLNA for Wireless file transfer. HTC Desire HD come with android 2.2 which means you can use HTC Desire HD as a Wi-Fi hotspot and you can connect your laptop to web via 3G.
Display
HTC Desire HD has a bigger screen with 4.3 inch and much larger than HTC Desire. But something is missing on HTC Desire HD. It really needs to adds some more pixels and should be AMOLED rathar than a LCD display with 800 x 480 resolution. But HTC clarified that the reason behind this due to the shortage of worldwide AMOLED. We see the changes have made in the later devices of the HTC
The HTC Desire HD has 1 GHz processor which is very quick. You can load any site within couple of second. Navigation is very smooth and easy to navigate. Pinch to Zoom and flick up and down to move around text and pages automatically aligns to fit.
HTC Desire HD supports Flash 10.1 which means you can play good quality flash videos. You may have to face a problem like it stuttered due to the poor Wi-Fi connection.
I personally streamed a selection of YouTube and BBC iplayer videos and it worked really well. HTC Desire HD has noticeably more blocking, soft details and blurrier skin tones HTC Desire HD feet the High definition clip with sharp and good contrast.
HTC Desire HD has tinny and underpowered speakers, which is a lacking part to this device.
Camera and Video
HTC Desire HD has 8 mega pixel cameras with its lens position at the top and in the center part of the rear casing, dual LED photolights sit just to the site. HTC Desire HD has a large screen to compose images but it can be hard to see in bright sunlight. Auto focus works very well and can tap to focus but shutter is slightly quick. Captured images are very good, on a good day colors are bold and there are many details but there is a chance to lost detail in a low or contrast areas.
HTC Desire HD has a sensational LED flash which is easily eluminated in a small room. Image noises are again very high like other devices. Plenty of features available and almost 13 filters you can apply before take a photo.
HTC Desire HD has 720p HD movie mode that produce very good result. But it would have been better and there is no HDMI only DLNA for wireless transfer.
HTC Sense
HTC Desire HD and Desire Z launched at the same time. HTC Sense.com is a online portal which allows remotely add contact, elements, forward calls and send and store messages. Here you can download apps, ringtone, music, wallpaper, games, widgets, skins, alarm tone. Choice is limited here but available 100 apps, 100 album’s, 6 screens and 10 alarms. We all know now HTC Sense 5 is available in the market.
